Saving supplements?

Hey everyone I have a quick question. I keep buying supplements every 6 months and never use all of it, so next time I'm thinking of taking half of the powder and vacuum sealing it with a oxygen absorber and place it in the freezer.

would this keep the vitamins from degrading? Trying to save as much money as I can for a trip to Europe next year.

Well, Ed could probably chime in with a more informed answer, but one of the advantages of clay is that there is a higher mineral content available to the frog (through micro-fauna, and hopefully, through contact). I imagine amending that could have results anywhere from negligible to dangerous, depending on the proportions and the original substrate.

In this case, I recently built 7 new tanks and went with a mix of sodium bentonite/aquatic soil with varying amounts of traditional substrate over that. I had left over vits/min that were out of date and I added what seemed like a reasonable amount to the Bentonite/aquatic soil that makes up the "underlayer".

Can't be sure of any benefit, really. It hasn't harmed the microfauna level any, which really exploded early (probably due to the "underlayer"). As far as ratio, I tried to err on the side of caution, and there are very few places where the frogs actually come in contact with the amended Bentonite.

There are more of us than you might think!

I was thinking about doing the same thing (splitting with locals) just because it feels like a waste just to throw so much away. Otherwise (good idea Phil) it will go into the FF media bin.
