Hey, so here's my first tad! Just wanted to see if his container is set up well:

250mL spring water with Betta SPA, with some moss, an indian almond leaf chunk, and some duckweed. I think it's looking good =]

Well, the tadpole looks very young (couple days out of the water at the most? At least it seems like it).
I also assume you also took her out of the petri dish or wherever you had the eggs as soon as it hatched.

Right when they hatch, they normally don't move that good.

As a cause of my own experience, I do put new tadpoles in shallow water for 1 week. The mortality rate of my tads was bigger when I put them right in deeper water.

Either way, the change (from deep to shallow water) worked extremely well for me, so I am just sharing my experience:) If that water level works for you, than don't change a thing!:)

I've known people to leave tads in Petri dishes 3-4 days. As long as there some water in the dish, the tad will be fine. Don't forget That in The wild, frogs deposit tads in puddles, seed pods, plants that reach near drying. They're pretty resilient. Although I wouldn't push them to the extremes, a shallow Petri with a bit of water is perfectly acceptable for a few days.

From the goodly few we have raised all seems spot on. For me at least the best bit is just around the corner, over the coming days you'll see the marking start to appear.I think it's species dependent on when exactly this happens,is this tad tinc clade? It looks like it.As the front arm/leg bulges get bigger so colour and pattern will appear quite rapidley. As above one of the most wonderful things about darts is not only does one get the miracle of metamorphosis, but that added extra of extraordinary colour. It's not hard to see why folks get addicted to darts is it?

best

Ok, here's some update pics:

Froggy:

I've seen him completely out of the water stuck to the side of the container. I have a lid on in case he decided to jump lol

I added some more moss, in case he decides to come up for good:

Edit:
So I've read a lot about SLS, so I've been pretty worried in general about my first tad having it. I think it's safe to say though, that he looks very healthy ;)

Hey Dan,
don't we all worry about SLS mate especially on the first tad!! I don't feel qualified to say healthy from a pic,but I can tell you that if he was here I'd be thrilled to bits and looking forward to watching him take his first grub. I think you have done a great job mate,he's everything I would hope for,
good luck and congratulations.

Oh yes, here's some updates:

This is my grow out container

I started out with some moist sphag to keep the humidity up. I sprinkled it lightly with some yeast, and added 3 different kinds of springs (seeded lightly).

Added lots of leaf litter to hide and play
