I am planning on doing a couple of changes to a vertical tank I have and wanted to know if this substrate mix would be ok to grow orchids, purple pitcher plants, as well as some mosses in? I would also like to add some leaf litter if I can find some.
Thanks in advance.

P.S. before placing any orchids in the tank can I clean it off the same way I do the other plants I put into my tanks by completely submerging it in water and lightly wipe it down?

I think that mix would do pretty well as long as your tank is drained. It would be awfully difficult to siphon water out of that substrate mix when your water level gets too high, though. I'm not too crazy about the sand part of the mix, just because it might cause a problem (clogging up) in your drainage. But if you have a water feature in the tank that excess misting water runs off into, then that might make it easier to siphon water out once it gets bogged down. Hope this helps!
