I have a growing number of worms, possibly nematodes, that are prospering in my springtail cultures. I made a new culture several months back and it remained worm free until I fed some cucumber peels. Are these going to eventually outcompete the springtails. By starting a new culture I add water and scoop the floating springtails but do the worm eggs float as well?

These are whiteworms. They are harmless. One of the methods, from the BDG I think, is to have springtails infest a whiteworm culture. Supposedly they produce better when they are living in the same culture. For people culturing whiteworms for fish, they see springtails as the infesting insect. Either way they shouldn't hurt your cultures.
