I've been raising my leuc froglets on melos for a while now and was thinking that I should probably switch them over to hydei's since they're bigger.
I also have some variabilis but I figure I'd keep them on the melos since thumbs are so tiny.

How long do you all raise froglets on melos for before switching them to hydei?

EDIT: Also what is the difference between normal hydei, golden hydei, turkish gliders and melos?

I also feed both to my leucs and tincs and terribilis. I feed hydei more often, but there's no reason not to culture both

I use both. I get huge Hydei blooms and they feeds all my Tincs.

I feed my Leucs wingless, mostly because the viv is in the eat in area and Hydei are escape artists!

That said, either/both flies are fine. Switching to a bigger fly isn't necessary though.

I would feed them Hydei when they can actually eat them. Drop a few in there. If the flies get eaten. Then they are ready for Hydei.

I prefer Hydei, since the vents are made of window screen. The Malengaster could get through the screen.
