Thus far, I've been adding once e cultures are room temp. When is the proper time to do so after culturing your FFs? Between adding the water, mixing, adding your surface area, and cooling. Where does the yeast fit in there? Or does it matter? I just didn't want to kill them. I don't think I have thus far, but theres really no way for me to tell if I had..

Hi Mark,

Which kind of yeast? Brewer's or active yeast? Are you making your own media or buying premade media?

You want to add it anytime between when the media is cool to right before you add the flies. It mainly encourages egg deposition and to help prevent competing microorganisms from establishing in the culture.
