I have a 20 gallon long with a false bottom in the works, and now that the bottom is done I need to start thinking about plants. I will obviously need some that dont grow very tall and would be good under medium or lower level lighting as I dont think I want to spend a ton on lighting for my first small tank (maybe next time if I do my 45 gal). I think planting is the only thing I have left to worry about, so any help would be great! I may post pics somewhere later if I like the way it turns out, got a few different ideas  swimming around my head for backgrounds and water features.

I have found pathos to be great for tanks without a lot of height. You can get these at any store with a gardening center. They aren't too fussy about lighting either. I have both green and marbled pathos. Green stays nice and short while the marbled grow about 6-10 inches tall. Hope this helps.
