I am playing on having a 48 bow front tank. but before i start it, I would like to know what type of lights should I use on the plants to make they grow healthy. As well what type of light can I use at night to be able to see but not produce heat?

If it were up to me I'd get T5 HO lighting. Great for the plants and doesn't produce as much heat as CFL's and others. A 2 bulb fixture would be great.... 4 bulbs even better. Bulbs should be around 6700K (also for any type of vivarium lighting). There are some good, cheap fixtures out there. Check out the Fishneedit.com fixtures. Hope this helps!
