I recently went on vacation for a few weeks and when I came back I had an over abundance of this white fungus mold looking stuff stuck all over my center piece of drift wood. Does anyone know what this is. Could it be a byproduct of the over abundance of mushrooms that have been springing up?

It may be a mycelium, which would make the mushrooms the byproduct. I have what looks very close to yours growing throughout one of my tanks that pops ups some nice big yellow mushrooms. The mushrooms may have dropped spores which are growing now. I could be wrong but it looks very close to what i have.

Actually, the mushrooms are probably a byproduct of all of the mold (mostly unseen) that you have in your tank. The fuzzy stuff (there's at least a couple different types in that pic alone) is the main body of the fungus, and the mushroom is fruiting body of the fungus (sort of like a flower).
