I think I use the same as John. I bought it at Radio Shack for 10 bucks. It doesnt have wires, I just put the whole thing in the tank. It's only about 2" x 1"

I got the Digital Thermometer/Hygrometer DUAL Probe System
Separate Probe for Thermometer/Separate Probe for Hygrometer
from bigappleherp.com I think it was Kyle that had recommended it. If I am wrong on who recommended it please forgive me, senior moments suck
I really like it. I have two more coming in on Monday.

They had 3-4 to choose from at the home depot this weekend. Ranging from 19.99 to 59.99. The 60 dollar one could read from 4 different locations. So not a bad buy if you have multiple tanks. They were all digital and all had probes.

I have a duel probe digital unit that has a probe for humidity and temp. Works great, and I only test every now and then.
