First, I just want to confirm that this is indeed a snail. But how in the name of Heqet did it get into my vivarium? I haven't put any new soil, plants, etc. in there for about a year. The last "gardening" I did was just cutting off a leaf here and there.

Also, I've been reading that it's good to remove them because they can eat eggs or be disease vectors. Should I remove the entire leaf it's on, or just pull it off?

That's interesting. I would remove the snail, as they have the potential to eat plants and eggs. You may have had snails in there for a while and just haven't noticed. I've seen snails in my imitator tank, but they've never become an issue really. I just pull them when I see them.
