We have those up here in Washington too! Its pretty neat that their "penis" has evolved in order to facilitate fertilization in extremely fast flowing water

Yeah, when they start measuring those things in terms of a length in proportion to the body length, it kind of puts most of us guys to shame. I heard that the common nickname for the frog is based on the name of a famous Viking explorer - Hugh Jorgan. :eek:

Dang, I wish I'd thought of that! I wish I had discovered the frog, too! It would've been priceless to see the other herpers faces when I showed it to them. :D

Me: "Check out this cool frog!"

Herper #1: "Whoa... waitasec... what's that?"

Me: "That's... well... it's kinda hard to explain..."

I think the need for COLD, fast flowing water makes them a poor choice for pets

If my understanding is correct (which it usually is not) the guy who discovered this frog is Dr. Hugh G. Rekshun, but I could be wrong.
