Igneous rocks are the way to go. Avoid sedimentary rocks because they can break down in the high-humidity of a viv and leach minerals. If you collect rocks be sure to clean them well. I soak in 10% bleach solution for a few hours, scrub with a stiff-bristled brush, rinse really well, then let them air-dry.
