- Fake Vines
- Real Rocks

What is the preferred method for making fake vines? I know (nylon?) rope is used and then covered with something.. Can somebody help me out here?

I realize that most people work with diy rocks rather than the real deal, but Id rather add a few small “real” rocks to my new build. What types of rocks are safe? Obviously I don’t want to have to pay for rocks… but if I cant find any which retailers (home depot, fish store, etc) would be my best bet?

Igneous rocks are the way to go. Avoid sedimentary rocks because they can break down in the high-humidity of a viv and leach minerals. If you collect rocks be sure to clean them well. I soak in 10% bleach solution for a few hours, scrub with a stiff-bristled brush, rinse really well, then let them air-dry.

a bag of rocks from home depot run about 6-7. Its hard to find good rocks.
