Alright, I have been using some herpcare vitamins I believe. I am not at my house right now to check. Anyway, I highly doubt they are formulated well for the needs of amphibians. So, I would like to get some of the pros input on what brand would be good for use on darts and mantella's. If I could get them at a pet store, that would be great, but I would also be willing to get them shipped from a specialist, you know. I have also been using a calcium only powder, which I think is still good. So, what are the best vitamins for frogs????????

The people I know who work at zoos and who have done their homework on the primary literature of herp nutrition use Walkabout Farms supplements. Here's the link for more info: http://www.herpnutrition.com/

That said, lots of people including me have used Herptivite for years. However, I will probably switch to the Walkabout (Quantum Series) supplements because Susan has researched not only the nutritional needs of the animals, but also has studied the dosing needs in conjunction with the amount of dust that sticks to specific feeder insects. It's the most comprehensive approach I've ever seen. I just wish they had secure online ordering capability.

I have been using dendrocare for just over a year. All I can say is that my four frogs (2 patricias, 2 azureus) all grew well and seem healthy. One of the patricas, the female, is rather round, and I wonder why. She is an aggressive eater, and I suspect I overfeed her some. I can't help but wonder, however, if the dendrocare mayu be involved, as posted somewhere on this board is a report of dendrocare at least being implicated in causing a bloated patricia. Whether dendrocare better than anything else, I don't know as I haven't used anything else (I entered the hobby just over a year ago).

After reading how happy others are with Herptivite and repcal, I'm considering a change.

I use dendrocare in combination with other supplements. I try to use a dash of this and a dash of that. I think that it is really important that your crickets and fruit flies are well fed. Mine get more fresh fruits and veggies than I do.
