Trimming Anthuriums

1948 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  Ed Martin
I have a couple anthuriums that I want to trim. Not that they are getting too tall but the leaves are actually blocking light for many of the smaller plants in the viv. I know a few people have them and was wondering how to do this. The the main stem looks as if it could be cut at a segment and actually used to start a new plant. Or should I just trim the leaves?

Thanks!

Ed-

If you would like to cut the main stem and root it you will gat another plant from it. The nodules on the side are actually roots and will grow if you plant them into the ground. We do this at the greenhouse I work at all the time to get new Anthurium. Otherwise a good pruning would work. Good luck!
