Timers EVERYWHERE!!!

Why is it so hard to find a timer with individually controlled outlets?!?!?!....... in the US?

I found one that has 6 total outlets and 5 of them are individually controlled for $50 but they want like $25 for shipping! With a 2-6 WEEK shipping time.

Aquarium Digital PROGRAMMABLE TIMER Wave Maker/Light

Just a little tired of having half a dozen bulky single timers in my stand. I have the corallife one and frankly, I hate it and it's the closest one I can find for what I need. Ideally I need atleast a 4 individually controlled outlet.

Sorry for the rant.... spent the last hour searching the web for one and nothing here in the good ole US of A.

I got mine at HHGregg and it has 5 controlled and 1 always on. Here you go:

P6GC | APC 6-Outlet Power-Saving Surge Protector with LCD Timer® | hhgregg

Hope that is what you are looking for. You can program the 5 to whatever time you'd like.

Can the 5 be individually controlled? Like I want outlet 1 to come on at 8am and outlet 2 to come on at 10am and so on?
yeah, you can program the 5 individually to whatever you heart desires. I have all mine programmed for the same time, but yes, to answer your question. Plus it is in the USA and you prolly have one close to you, so no shipping :)

Hah Your welcome !

It works great for me...although all my lights go off at the same time, atleast I dont have a bazillion timers everywhere and have the option to tweak times if I need it. Yeah, somedays I can't seem to find anything either !!! Been there !!! haha

So does that thing take 24 hours to re set itself every time you adjust the timer like this crappy r-zilla/coralife POS?
(I've also heard rumors about them starting fires, which really doesn't surprise me where coradeath is concerned)
No lol. It is automatic. You just program the current local time, then you use the LCD screen to choose which outlet to control and program when it turns on and when it turns off. It has been working great for me and can't beat the price.
just thought I would throw this in the thread for someone that is looking for the same timer. The one from HHGregg was like $30 and I found a place online were they are $16.50 each. So I ordered two and they also offer free shipping on orders over $10(yes... that says ten bucks)

Good find ! Best bang for your buck right there
Nice, I've been in the market for a new multi plug timer!
What is the smallest interval on these? Like seconds...minutes....quarter hour...hour?
looks like the lowest is minutes and I'm beginning to think this is NOT the type of timer strip I was looking for...... Here is the user guide, it's the first link under the documentation tab.

APC Power-Saving Timer Essential SurgeArrest, 6 Outlet, 120V

It never mentions how to control each individual outlet but tells you how to set program 1, program 2 and so on. You can set up to 6 programs per day.

Read the first sentence below "Overview and Operation"
Basically saying this is a timer and surge protector in one.....not a single unit with multiple timers. Bummer.
This is my new favorite gizmo: Home - Reef Angel Controller

I still have to use a seconds timer for misting though. There is plenty of room between sockets thankfully. Took a minute to get it all set up straight, but it wasn't too bad. Not so great for a bunch of racks, but fun for a standalone display tank.
the P6GC, you can control the on/off time on 5 of the outlets. I have not messed with the "programs", but you just go thru each outlet on the LCD screen and select times...It should be exactly what you need. Go pick it up at HH and try it out, if that is not what your looking for, just take it back, but it should be what you need

Smallest interval is mins...

The ones I ordered should be in tomorrow, they are the P6GC. The instructions I found online are very misleading then because not once does it mention outlet selection. lol, I started sweating it again to find a timer like I want after reading the instructions.
You should be just fine. This should clear things up...I snapped a few photos.

This is what the LCD screen looks like, displays time, ect ect...

(side note, dunno why it says thurs haha) That was changed tonight :)

Now the next two are when you set ON/OFF times for each outlet ! I.E I have my lights turn on at 9am and turn off at 9:33pm. All my lights for my frogs/lizards/ect turn on and off at the same time, but you can switch it up per outlet if needed. The little "2" in the bottom left indicates the outlet.

I bought two of those Aquarium Programmable Wave Makers and have never had a problem with them. The always work as they should and are fairly simple to figure out. I highly recommend it. You should be able to get it shipped from Ebay for about $65.
Thanks for the pics Brian!

Frogfever - I will try these $16.50 outlet strips first;)
