I picked up a group of 4 thumbnails from Phil Tan (green legged Lamasi), Phil told me the oldest was 3 months old. I have had them for 2 weeks now and 1 animal is actually calling. I wrote him about this, he was amazed and verified their age. Calling thumbnails at 3.5 months old, this hobby never ceases to show me something new.

Were these imported from Europe recently? So they are not the ones he has sold in the past? Do you have any pics?

A pumilio I purchased from Thomas Villegas called at three months. I also had an imitator call at around three and a half to four months. Congrats on your new frogs.

This may sound insane, but here are the original notes about my vents from my frog-notebook:

"Heard one of the juv. vents calling first on 10/27/04. The oldest would have morphed out at EARLIEST on 9/1/04, but probably closer to the second week in September. So the absolute oldest that the calling frog could be is 1 month, 27 days!"
