Ok,,, I want to do something fun... like a bieutiful CD of frog song...

So every one who wish to do send me some calls of your frog...

First, send me 30sec of call of frog with the name of the frog...

and then I will just putt togeter in a cd...

That will not be a remix.... just the song of the frog for people that only have one or two species and wish know more of the call of different species... Like you breeder........ :lol:

I will not ask for money... that will be a bank of knowlege and every one who ask all the mp3... will be given... but let me time... and I will give you a another adress with more space so tanks you

All the species of frog will be accepted... reeds, dendro and mantella....

This is actually a good idea for several reasons. I think it would be a great novelty for people, but it's also a very good way to identify animals in the field. Brian had taught me the calls of many glass frogs in the field, which is one of the best ways to identify them if you can't see them in close proximity. It would be interesting to get field calls recorded for louder species such as any Phyllobate and Epipedobate. Many Dendrobates are even vocal enough that you could identify them by call in the field. I still plan on eventually recording the calls of different D. granuliferus morphs since their calls are so dramatically different.

As Justin noted, calls are a great way to ID animals in the wild. CD's of bird calls have been around for awhile and can be very helpful. It is a lot easier to find birds by their calls then actually seeing all of them. It also allows you to locate them, so you can move towards them and have a greater chance of seeing them. So I think such a resource could be very useful for froggers as well. It would also just be interesting to hear frogs that you don't own, or are interested in owning... as I find it very hard to describe some of the frogs calls, but that could just be me.

I have a great tape set that I got back in junior high that gives the common name the latin name and a sample of all the frogs and toads calls that are found in the US. There is also a second tape that has different calls frogs use and explains what they are used for. It has been a priceless tool in helping me be able to identify any frog in the Country by just hearing it outside.

Black Jungle sells a CD with quite a few different types of frog calls.

It's called something like "Frog and Toad Sounds of north, central, and south America". We pick that and another up at IAD. We have a new pond behind our house with two very distinct frog calls and I've been meaning to listen to the CD to see if I could identify them but haven't had time...........

I'm sorry, but I don't have any frogs. If someone has any recording equipment, I would definitely like to borrow it to make recordings in the field next time I go.
