The home center had a bunch of tropical plants for 3$. I picked a few out, in hopes a couple will be ok for a viv plant. Can you identify any of these and are they appropriate?

Thanks in advance.

Is this the same plant with longer stems?

This is not a great photo...

The one purple one with stems is a setcresea I think.
The other purple is some sort of brom, maybe a cryptbergia rubra

Beth, what part of Alaska!? That is, if I am interpreting your name correctly. I live in Anchorage, so it'd be great to know that I'm not the only one up here doing this! As far as your plants go, the bottom one (Ficus pumila) is a great background cover, train it to climb all over. The 2nd one from the bottom is a "zebra plant", I have one in my kitchen, but they get huge.

The only one of that group that I would consider viv suitable would be the Ficus.
The one you think is a Cryptbergia is not. Its more likely a type of Callisia

I think you are correct on the Setcreasea

The Zebra plants get fairly large so if you want to use them in a viv I would recommend a very large viv with a fair amount of airflow and light.

Thank you todd!! I'll take all my purple plants to work and pawn them off on others.
