springtails
This is the method I have used for years.
Get a tupperware shoebox, put in about 1/2" of vermiculite and some pieces of orchid grade charcoal. Add some water, about 1/4" or so. Throw some springtails in. For food I use fish flake food and a variety of old vegetables including carrots, kale, collard greens and lettuce. When you want to collect springtails just pull out the charcoal pieces and tap together over the tank being fed. For more springtails fill the tub with water and spoon them out, they float. The extra water should be removed to original level.
Basic care is keeping them moist and adding food when they run out.
Thanks
