i just put some terrestrial algae into my vivarium on the embankment of the water and all the springtails are congregating on it. they seem to really like it for some reason. any ideas? im assuimng they're eeding on it but is this necessarily the case?

I would assume they are eating it Where did you get the terrestrial algae BTW?

i found a small piece outside and then grew it inside on a windowsill with plenty of water and fertiliser.

some people wouldnt use algae but i think it creates a nice green mat faster and lower maintenance than moss and its easy to weed out.
