Hi everyone. Just wanted to share this video I took of some springtails in the small water area of my tank. It pretty interesting but can't figure out the reason why its happening. Anybody else experience this before? Any ideas what's going on? It started with just a few and is now double what is in the video

Don't mind the background noise. lol

That's totally normal. I cultivate them in tubs of charcoal and half filled with water.

agreed. My springtails always get into pools, film canisters, etc and sit and move on the water. Not sure what they're doing, but they don't seem to die there...

The springtails are feeding on the biofilm that occurs on the surface of the water. They used to be considered aquarium pests in the old fish books...
