I’ve had a Viv getting settled for about 4 weeks. I’ve noticed that the spag is staying too saturated. Do I need it if I have a good enough leaf litter layer? Should I leave some spag in the viv? I have abg as the substrate and that seems to be draining well but the spag is just too moist and making the substrate saturated as well? Should I take the spag out. Other that that viv is doing well.

There's no need for spaghnum moss on top of the substrate. It holds too much moisture which isn't great for your frogs' feet.

I only use sphag to help new plants root, such as marcgravia. Other than that, it is just part of the ABG mix.

Correct, I use Sphagnum into the mix substrate (charcoal, sphagnum, peat, akadama) and above that, leafs...
