How many of you have actually witnessed the shedding of your frogs. I was at Dave Willmore's today and we got to see 2 of his tincs shed and eat their sheds. Very cool behavior that I've never seen dart do in person before. How often does this occur?

Here is one of my Bastis eating his old skin. This usually occurs early in the morning for all frogs. I have also witnessed my imitators doing when ive pulled all nighters.

I don't have any pics, but we've seen our sips shed before. It was pretty funny because Mike thought that the frog was about to die right in front of us.

I don't know exactly how often the frogs will shed their skins, but I have seen the same tinc shed twice in successive days. The first time you witness it, it is a bit unsettling . . . they look like they are going to turn themselves inside out!

As was said earlier, it usually happens first thing in the morning.

Our frogs eat themselves

Because they can. Ha ha. I have seen our frogs puff their bodies out to loosen their skin, and then eat their skin right off of their bodies. Gross, but interesting--fun to watch.
I don't know how many times someone has bought a frog from me to tell me that their frogs are dying !! Oh my God my frogs are freeking out puffing up and their skin is sluffing off !! They don't believe that they are fine and can't believe that frogs shed . You should see my whites tree frogs . I have lots of pictures of all my frogs eating shedding .But I have to agree it looks pretty stange if you don't know what's going on .
Happy frogging ,

They probably shed every day. I've seen PDF do it a few times but when I had RETF, you could count on watching them shed every night just as they became active after the lights went out.
from what ive picked up its a daily activity. Because they do this early in the morning we dont often see it. Mabey even before the lights go on.
