just bought two imitator nominants, besides size difference and watching for calling, is there any other way to tell the difference between a male and female imitator, toepads, legs, back shape etc..

Generally speaking it is very difficult to distinguish male from female until the species is fully grown. Females tend to be plum or pear shape like. Males will generally have more straight body shape, and yes of course, the call.
