My wife rescued a green treefrog. Her company is expanding their parking lot into a wetland area. We will probably end up with more. Anyway, wanting to set up something more natural for a green treefrog.

Are there any native plants from the southeast US that do well in vivariums? It is a shame I can not fit a palmetto tree in a 12 x 12 x 18 tank. They do love the palmettos.

I don't keep tree frogs, and I couldn't pick a palmetto out of a line up, but you've made a useful observation there. Once you figure out which plants an animal prefers, then make some reasonable hypotheses about what quality the animal is exploiting, you can choose more practical substitutes from plants that are available to you and grow well in a viv regardless of the plants' native range.
