I was wondering if anyone else has tried these in their vivs.
I recieved 2 different species from Black Jungle and was just wondering how high on the background other people mounted theirs.
Thanks,

I have two Ssp. of rhipsalis in my large tank. It seems to be a very slow grower and does not spread as of yet (about 9 months now)....definite cacti characteristics. Mine oare mounted about 10 inches up, and droop down. I just wrapped them in LFS and "stapled" them to the tree fern. Interesting yet somewhat boring plants.

We have had success with different species of Rhipsalis. We mount them high in the vivarium with the roots wrapped in long fiber sphagnum. They have perished when kept too damp and not with sufficient lighting.

When placed in the correct spot, amongst other epiphytes, they give a very natural look to the vivarium and some will develop a red hue when provided with strong lighting.

Rhipsalis happens to be the only somewhat interesting plant available at nurseries in the Phoenix area on a very regular basis.
