Of course, it depends a lot on whether you are doing only the background and the dimensions (height and thickness) of the background. I haven't found powdered bentonite or REDART clay in bags smaller than 20 pounds, but if you can get 5 pounds of each, that would be more than enough. If you plan to make a clay-based substrate, I'm sure you'd have enough for that as well.

I found 5 pound bags of powdered RedArt clay at a local pottery shop.... Looking back on it I should've gone with laterite.
