I was digging through a tank tonight and came across what looked like tiny isopods, which isn't surprising. The surprising part is their color. They were blood red to orangy-pink, all of them. They moved fast too, probably as fast as a fruit fly can walk. They were about 2mm at their largest, and I've never seen them before. Anybody else have experience with them? Am I seeing a nymph stage of a regular grey iso? I've never seen any other isos in this tank, and haven't had any plant additions in months.

Here's a photo I managed to snap of one. My camera isn't very good for such a small subject, but it's the best I can do. It is a brighter red in real life.

If I get enough to culture, then things might get interesting. As of right now, I've only pulled 3 or 4 out of the substrate into a deli cup.
