Quikrete Bonder/Fortifier Background greyish?

My quikrete bonder background is grayish on my one tank where I didn't bother to put an extra coat of fortifier then sprinkle on peat. It dried for about a month and when I misted it turned greyish, so is this just cosmetic and not the glue doing something bad?
