I find that my terribilis love to roam horizontally, so if you have the tank to accomodate this, go for it. I have a 6' long tank ( 15" H) which was a blast to set up and works great with this species.
For anyone fence-sitting on trying the terribilis, I can tell you that they are absolutely fearless! Forget worrying about whether they'll be hiding; mine come running when I open the top! Fruitflies might be just fine for them as froglets, but they soon outgrow them. I offer 1/2 grown crickets to my adults...if it can fit in their mouth, they'll take it. Watching them leap 6" in the air to pluck a cricket off a plant is incredible. And their call... ...I can be upstairs and still hear them clearly.
Gushing ended,
Scott
