Also I would recommend false bottoms for larger tanks just to cut down on weight and make them a little easier to drain IMO. LECA works good in smaller tanks say 40 gals or so and smaller. It is easy to use. Pour it in the tank and out some screen over it (or whatever you choose to separate) and then your substrate and you are good to go
