If you haven't checked your local Walmart lately, they are clear out the plants for the Winter. I picked up six plants for $1.37 each.
Plants where: Plilodendron, Peperomia, Cryptanthus and Fittonia

Reduced for $1.37

Next I removed all the soil I could and gave a nice soaking in a Neem bath.

After that a rinse and water bath.

So now I have sixteen plants after separating

Then I repotted the plants into ABG mix to get them used to it and placed them into a spare 10 gallon tank and put a cover on it. Hoping they will adjust to a higher humidity.

You can't be sure that they haven't been sprayed with pesticides so I'd keep them away from frogs for a few months just to be sure the pesticides have dissipated.

Not for nothing these stores dont really take care of their angel plants. However I agree on the hold out.

So I went to my local Walmart after seeing this post.

Turns out that the plants weren't on winter clearance....



BUT I asked on of the workers and he paged for a certain lady to come out. I asked her when they'll be going on clearance or if they will and she said "yeah" with a funny smile while she looked at the guy I originally asked and told me to hold on while she went to go get the scanner.

I ended up taking Pilea Mollis, Philodendron "Silver", Syngonium Podophylum "Holly", Hedera Helix "Royal Hustle", and another plant I believe to be Pilea "Aluminum" all for $1.37 each! I also helped myself to some Dischidia Nummularia cuttings.

Great advice - Thank you. I will keep them in their separate 10gal tank for a few months. They should also be well rooted into their new ABG mix by then.

I hate Wal mart! But if I get plants, and they don't make any money then that sounds great!
