If you have ever heard of Pike's Nursery do you know if this would be an acceptable place to purchase plants for my viv? I dont want any garbage getting in there my dog already had cancer im sick of chemicals! The reason I ask is because there is one right down the street from my house.

Seriously, most commercial plant growers use pesticides and other nasties.
If they didnt they would have 10x more work and a much higher rate of loss in stock.

The best thing you can do if you want to use plants from a commercial source (Yes this includes Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart, and almost every garden center) is plan months ahead, setting up a place to grow the plants out and take cuttings from them when you are ready to plant a viv.

The alternative is to buy from many of our sponsers here on the board, which keep in mind that their plants are being sold to people who will be using them in vivs. Or buying from another board member. Many of us often post ads to sell off excess plants we are growing.
