I was wondering, will P. vittatus deposit in a communal pool, or just individually in smaller receptacles? I have seen them spending a lot of time in and out of the pill jars. I have a larger pool of water(plastic receptacle-removable) that they just don't use. Maybe it was the placement of the larger pool of water that has caused them to avoid it? It is in the front left corner and quite visible. I am hoping that all the activity in the pill jars will produce some tads.

Thanks for the advice!

Hi JBear,

I have a pair of Vittatus that do deposit tads for me. I have a film can in the tank for eggs and 2 small containers at the front of the viv near the door, very visible. The deposit containers I use are just a bit larger than a Gal milk cap and about 2x as deep.

I find 2 to 5 tads in each from time to time. Just keep checking when you feed. I remove the tads after a few days to a larger communal tub.
