I am making a new viv and I want to use a 5" dia. oak branch in the soil it will probably mold but do you think it will work?
Its really old and very very dry.
It was a bit of work sawing thru it with a recip. saw.
Any thoughts?

Thanks

I use oak driftwood in both my gargoyle gecko and fire belly toad tanks. Works great! Just make sure to bake it in the oven to kill anything on it. You could boil it as well if you have a big enough pot. I usually toss my pieces in the oven at about 250 deg for 30 min or so.

Thanks for the replies guys.
I will bake it.
I expect the bark to mold but thats ok.
Im going to use 1 piece as a retaining wall like log.
And the other sunk in the soil on one end and sticking out like a bridge on the other end.
