I have recently just set up my first vivarium. I know that mold is a normal occurrence in new vivs especially common mold. I am noticing though that a large amount is growing on my wood that i have placed in there and am worried it might not be suited for the humid climate. Its a piece driftwood i picked up from a reptile store. Should i take it out or wait and see if it cycles through?

Definitely make sure you have enough air movement inside the tank.

Don't quote me on this but my personal opinion is that the wood and mold looks fine at this point. I'd give it some more time.

The time to worry would be if you see mold that looks black and/or if mold begins to grow on plants.

Some mold is generally fine, if you have springtails or isopods they will clean it up. Mold is a sign of your vivarium cycling. Dont worry.
