First, I understand the legistics and can whole heartedly agree that captive born darts even terriblis raised on fruitflies and such are non-toxic especially to humans and that no harm to your person could come from handling or even in the worst case licking one. However i was asked how I could prove to a less informed person that they are non-toxic that wouldn't just take my word for it. (Don't really want to swollow one of my darts to prove it.)

My first reaction to this was ask them to explain how they know the earth is round, you just know. But I know that wouldn't help if it was legal issue. I would try and friend the scientific papers that document this, I will look through a list I have and try and find a few references for you.

Proof?

As the romans have always said, "when in doubt, Google it!"

its easy to explain the earth is round. I think it was the Greeks that first came up with the idea the earth is round. If you look at a solar eclipse you can tell the earth is round, because an eclipse is just a reflection of the earth on the moon.

If they dont believe that the frog are non-toxic, then start making money off them. Sell $5 per lick on your frogs for them to get high

That's pretty funny....and a good idea. I've always thought it was okay, and actually wise to exploit stupidity.

Uh, no matter what you feed your frogs they will still have some small level of toxins in their skin as do all frogs. even your standard bullfrog has toxins in his skin that will probably make you sick if you are stupid enough to lick him.....

The only frog that has intoxicating chemicals in their toxins is the colorado river toad (Bufo Alvaris). even then you have to cook the toxins out before usage so you dont get ill.

Final note:

Dont lick your frogs. If you do, call 911 first just to be safe.

On another note, why do you have to prove anything to anyone. If they dont belive you, just laugh at their ignorance.
