always wanted to keep some of these beautiful frogs and have finally found the time to make somewhere to keep them!

hoping to keep 2-3 auratus (cheap; easier darts i gather; green)

I am planning on finding some java moss and riccia this week, as well as that clay ball stuff and substrate. Dunno if i'm going to have a background

anyway! :D

I was wondering if a 30x13x12H glass aquarium would be tall enough to keep auratus properly, or if I should get a larger one. *shrug* already have this one ^

Also if anyone has recommendations of ferns/leafy plant things that auratus would like to hang out on, would be great.

A caresheet to look at.

You dont need a tall viv for auratus. You should have more horizontal space for auratus. You need to build a horizontal landscape. If you search this forum for member vivarium, you can find amazing build for auratus. 30x 13x12 is about a 20 gallon tank and should hold a pair.

Riccia and java moss would look amazing especially for auratus. I recommend using hydroton balls(clay Balls) instead a false bottom or you can go either way. Up to you.
your tank is a 20L (20 gallon long)

it can work well if designed correctly. the main issue with this tank size is finding suitable plants that will remain small enough (height wise). you can pretty much forget things youd find locally (although thats almost always the case w/ truly good viv plants).

you have to remember that with 3 inches (a relatively shallow amount) of drainage and substrate, and leaf litter on top (another 1-2") your looking at only 7 inches of real useable height for plants.

some good plants would be:

trailing or low growing peperomias
violets
begonias (some smaller varieties)
