I just received a new yellow terribilis at about 3-4 months old. I picked the frog up on thurs. and i'm keeping it in a 190 oz. plastic tub w/ a coconut hut and leaf litter. I never really see the frog..it seems very shy and it's eating very little. I am keeping it in the tub to fatten him up and make sure it's doing well. I have a 65g which is well planted and loaded w springtails. Would the frog do better if i just turned it loose? I'm a bit concerned.

Give it a chance to settle in...froglets are usually shy when moved to a new tank. Honestly I would leave it alone as much as possible, put it in a quiet area thats dimly lit. Pretty soon it will be super bold.

I second that...I raise orange terribilis and they tend to be fairly shy for several months anyways, but even more so when they are moved to a new tank. Give it some time to settle in, should be out begging before you know it.

I wouldn't worry too much. I've had mints take a while to settle in, but give it a week or three, and they'll be as bold as they should be.

I just noticed that it's been a few days since you originally posted this. Are they doing better?
