I currently have a 10 gallon and I am converting an old 55 gallon ruby cut fish tank into a 80 gallon tall viv. There are multiple features in the tank that allow the frogs to inhabit the upper portion of the tank. I currently have one Brazillian Yellowhead and am going to get more after the completion of the tank. I know that tincs like the ground level of the tank and dont really visit the upper regions, are there any pdf's that I can put in with my tincs to will live in the upper portion of the tank? Also, what are the benefits of having fans installed in the tank?

For a beginner you should not mix frogs, but once you have more experience you could have a group of yellow heads, and a group of r.ventrimaculatus this mix could work because vents are thumbs and can not breed with tincs and tincs use the bottom and vents use the top, fans are really only to keep condensation off the glass

Eclipepilot, I would highly recommend you do some research on mixing. Read some of the sticky's on the topic then come to your own conclusions based on the literature available. I'd also caution you by noting this is a very hot topic on the board. Many members have strong opinions regarding mixing. I only ask that you read the literature carefully and make your decision based on what is in the best interest for your frogs.

Also note that some frogs use almost all of the space in a viv. A great starter species that will use all the space are luecs. Pumilio also use all the space and are easy to care for. They are listed as "advanced" because of difficulties with husbandry. Just something to consider.

Regarding fans:
Fans circulate air in the viv. Otherwise the viv air becomes stagnant. They are vital for some plants such as orchids that really need air movement to survive. There is a bit of a debate as to whether they benefit frogs. Personally I feel a little air circulation cant hurt and can only help. All of my vivs have fans in them.
