Some updated pics of my tree frogs. These guys are so neat! :D

Let me know how they look. I get worried because they aren't chubby like my darts. Their tummys look round though. I'm working on a new tank for them, this weekend. Hopefully will have it finished soon.

LOL well without the flash, the picture is a black square, since it's night time. :p

No calling yet. I'm hoping by the spring. They were just little guys when I got them in September.

Hey Kris, they look perfect. I used to worry about mine because their conformation is so different from many other frogs, but those look to be at a perfect weight and shape (some of the best-looking ones I have ever seen actually). Great job with some beautiful frogs!

Thanks everyone! I got them from Michael Novy. They were kind of an impulse buy. Couldn't resist once I saw them. I'm so glad I grabbed them up. :D

Many thanks to Bill Schwinn for his patient advice. :p

Hey Kris,
Just a little heads up: the dracanea may get a little funky-looking after a while as it grows and sheds the bottom leaves. Also, you can't go wrong with adding Aglanoema...they will love it I promise (if you don't like the way it looks Spathiphyllum works just as well, but is slightly less sturdy).
Keep us updated (especially with more pics of those gorgeous frogs!)

Thanks Field. Everything, except the purchased wood pieces and the Vanilla vine, is getting tossed. Those will get a good, long, bleach soak and then a nice long bake. Well, just the bleach soak for the Vanilla. :p

All new plants and innards for their new tank :D

Haven't been able to get their new tank set up, yet. Looks like it will be a Christmas project. :D

Soooo, it seems that they are eating the nemerteans. That's kind of cool, yet, disgusting at the same time. I really hate those worms

The new tree frog tank is almost ready for occupancy.

Tonight I hosed down my tree frogs (just in case there were lurking nemerteans) and put them in a temp container. They're in there because they were eating the worms, and, I don't know whether or not the worms or eggs could survive and populate the new tank when pooped out. I'm going to let them stay in there for a little while until they have, umm, possibly cleaned themselves out. :D

Anyway, grabbed a couple pictures after moving them to the temp container. One went right back to sleep. The other is trying to find the hidden passageway out. Let me know if they still look ok. One of the good things about their new tank is that I'll be better able to monitor their feeding.

Very cool frogs! Two questions:

1) Do these guys come out dawn/dusk, or are they strictly nocturnal like red eyes?

2) Don't they need more ventilation than PDFs? Do you use a screen top?

They don't get up until I shut down their lights at night. I'm not much for getting up at dawn, but, they are always asleep when I do get up. :p

Their tank front has upper and lower ventilation. The humidity stays around 60% during the day. A little higher at night as that's when I give them a little misting.
