Last night before i went to sleep, i took a glance at my Azureus tank and noticed that there were around fifty newly hatched millipedes around a 1/4 of an inch. All of them were in a localized area, and im assuming that they came from the live moss that i have layering the entire bottom of this tank. They seem to be eating mostly the frogs feces and broken down leaf litter. was wondering if any body else had this problem and if i should be concerned.

Are the azureus eating them? Have they noticed them yet?

the azureus just seem to ignore them, i noticed my largest female stomping on one with her front limbs until it was dead, but other than that i have not noticed any interaction.

I have the same problem in my imitators viv. I suspect they came out of some wood that I collected and somehow survived boiling and oven drying. On frognet, there is a discussion on this and it is thought that they give off small ammounts of cyanide when they decease. I've had them in other tanks as well and never noticed any problems (aside from eating a bromeliads buds) and they seem to clean up the decaying matter, especially ff carcasses.

I have a certian kind in my tanks that are extremely small only about 1 inch long and as thick a pencil lead as adults. I have been propgating them and have purposely placed them in all my different tanks since they do one hell of a job on janitorial duty. I have never had a problem with them eating plants and the frogs don't seem to care that they are there.
