Micro mini Sinningia

So..these things are super tiny! I'd like to acquire some. Does anyone grow these? I've had African violets in my tank before that did really well. Do these have the same kinda growth habits? I also saw they can go dormant....how often does that happen? I got my birthday coming up and my wife wanted some plant ideas. Figured I'd get something I've never seen before! Thanks.

I was worried as they can be pricey. I settled on "freckles."($9)
Flower Plant Purple Petal Pink

It is too wet in the viv and a split from the original purchase is too dry in a grow out box. Very happy with the plant hardiness wise. This is the first bloom in my new viv! The bloom is about 10 days old in the picture. It may not be a "micro mini" but it is tiny. I will definitely try some more.

I get that about being pricey. I hate spending monies and the plant dies...
Have you had that long? Is that as big as it gets? I assume since it's flowering. Have you tried propagating it yet? Thanks for the response!
S. muscicola does well in wet tanks. S. pusilla needs it a little drier. Both are very easy, and go dormant randomly for a few months at a time.

Only for a few months, I propagated it as received. Its a first experience for me, but a really good one.

In my experience an African violet would not put up with the wetness that this Sinningia tolerates. I think it might prefer things dryer, but it is a trooper. I put it under my fan, it is the wettest spot. It bloomed quickly!

That's good to know! I keep my tank dryer to make my alocasia happy. My tank isn't super wet.

Thanks for the info. I think I can grow this. Found a seller on Etsy selling the Sinningia micro mini "Pusilla". Might give this a shot.

I joined the Gesneriad Society to get some seeds of these species and the ones that germinated never grew for months and just died. But in the meantime I had some S. muscicola that just sprang up in my viv spontaneously (hitchhiker seeds that were brought in with an orchid).
I just bought 13 different kinds of micro and mini Sinningia. I'll be testing them all in vivariums to see which ones do well. I bought 4 on etsy, 2 from glassboxtropicals, and 5 locally, plus one repeat locally. The ones I bought locally were only $6 each.
etsy:
Hircon
Spreckles
Flair
HCY's Gemini

Glassboxtropicals:
Muscicola
Freckles

Local:
Muscicola
Laura
Sue Bear
April Snow
Pusilla
Cindy-ella
Maiden's Blush
Dollbaby

There are only 4 species of micro Sinningias: pusilla, muscicola, minima and concinna. All are from a small area in Brazil and are lithophytes that grow in moss on constantly wet rocks near water sources. All of the micro hybrids have genetics from one of those four (probably not minima, that one is harder to find). I grow a number of the species and hybrids listed as well as some others. Based on both experience and knowledge of their native habitat, I would not expect the 13 hybrids to react very differently in vivs.

I grow Sinningia pusilla amd Sinningia muscicola. Have two pots with many tiny plantlets - will take another month or two to be manageable. Not in flower of course. Getting seed for Sinningia concinna (unfortunately minimall speckles). Not tried any of these in a vivarium, but they should be fine because they require high humidity. Been growing them for many many years in terrariums.
