So this could be a really dumb idea/question, but I don't really care... So if cocos panels are essentially peat and glue (some bonding agent), what is to stop us from making them ourselves?

I always assumed that cocos panels were made from coconut fiber. I know the ones from vivaria are denser than the stuff you get at the nursery, but I have had decent luck with the cheaper stuff, 1$ per ft of 3 ft. wide material

I have thought the same thing...but could you imagine the mess? I think I will sick with purchasing it, don't have time to mess with making a new product.
