On my tanks, I have MH, PC, and regular flourescent, I haven't yet, but I'd like to set up moonlights on some of my tanks.
I like the PC's the best, though it seems the regular flourescents T-8 Reptisun 2.0, grow plants just as well, it just takes up most of the top of the tank to get the watts I want.
I thought the MH would be the way to go, but all the types I tried seemed to have a color tinge that I don't like. I have a 70 watt over my phelsuma tank. I wish the color was a little more natural, but I like the fact that it provides a basking area with heat and UV, and still grows plants really well.
One of these days I'm gonna get around to ordering some of the new high output t-5 flourescent bulbs, which are supposed to throw out about 95 lumens per watt! And the bulbs are under $20 for a 54watt, (almost 4 ft. long).

I have a lunar light in my hood, but really it's useless. It lights up the tank a little at night but I think it would be better suited for redeyes.
