I've used some little 6w LED aquarium lights for "moonlight" for some of my vivariums--and use 1 for my crested gecko. I find that the blue tone is best for simulating moonlight. The LED is set up on a day/night timer to come on when the fluorescent plant lights shut down--but I also keep this light on a switch to manually turn off when I go to bed--giving the critters some true darkness.
