I just got done drilling a hole in the bottom of my big display viv. It went off with out a hitch. No craked bottom or total colapse as I had feared might happen.

All in all it took about an hour and a half to drill the hole, but only about 30 minutes of that was actual drilling. As it is very hard on the arms to drill upside down from inside the tank stand. But it is done. Tommorrow I will remove a section of media and cut a small hole through the false bottom to install the bulkhead, and then I will be good to go.

It will be nice to run the drip wall agian. Its been off for about a month now (it took three weeks to get the drill bit), and the java moss near the top is looking kind of sad as a result.

Just wanted to share this after all the stress it has caused me.

Was it tempered? I'd love to put a hole in the bottom of my tank to be able to drain it easier but it's tempered glass. :(
