Hello all,

So I have been playing with these resin rocks a little and have not been having any decent success. To those epoxy guru's out there what is your process? do you mix your oxides in with the whole batch of epoxy? do you lay your oxides strategically inside the mother mold and the epoxy picks the pigments up once pored? or do you apply the oxides once the resin is cured in some way? help would be most appreciated from you resin heads.

mix seperate cups of epoxy, tint each one a little different. I use powdered concrete tint. paint on mold, or pour. But def mix the tint with the resin thoroughly....

Thanks for the reply. ok, I have been mixing the tint in with the epoxy. Obviously this will come from some experimentation on my part but my trouble is getting depth and the weathered look to the rocks. The molds are great, but the colors are uniform. With epoxy mixing colors doesnt work...at least not on surfboards so where does the multiple colors and mineral effects come from?
